Who Are We?
At More than Meets the Eye, we will tell you what we know. We will not tell you that we have some form of insider information, but we will share with you our perspective based on our experiences all around the world and as followers of Christ. We won't try to tell you that we are without pre-suppositions, but we are happy to tell you what they are. We doubt you will get the same from mainstream media.
The Weekly will be a subscription-based commentary that will help all of us see through the distraction to the truth beneath. It will be written for everyone and without fabrication. It will be short, to the point and without embellishment. It will come to you in three sections: the Review, the Why and the Action. We will review specific significant events from the previous week using sources beyond just mainstream media. We will address why and how that matters to all of us. Lastly, we will demonstrate how we can do something about it and not live in fear and under manipulation.
"Those who do not read the news are uninformed, those who read the news are misinformed.” – Mark Twain
An Evening with Jesus
For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me...Then the righteous will answer him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink? And when did we see you a stranger and welcome you?’...And the King will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.’
Matthew 25: 35-40
“An Evening with Jesus” is a momentous community affair. Jesus tells us in the Gospel of Matthew that we are all called upon to give food to the hungry, drink to the thirsty, clothing to the naked, and shelter to the homeless. He tells us that if we do, it will be exactly the same as doing it for him. It feels sometimes that we have ignored this teaching of our Savior. At “More than Meets the Eye,” we are certain that we have all been called to go beyond just believing the right thing and that we are being called to act.
Join with us soon to host a refugee family or individual in your home for a home cooked meal and an evening of demonstrated love and kindness. It will do two things for you: it will help you overcome any fears that you may have about these unknown people coming into our country, and it will afford you the opportunity to have dinner with Jesus.
More information will be made available soon.
